FJM was a collection of professional tv writers who happened to be huge baseball fans, familiar with sabermetrics , and tired of the idiocy that defined much of professional sports journalism. Sadly for us, they all became very successful in their, you know, "jobs".

KenTremendous is the creator of NBC's Parks and Recreation, and each of the other writers have moved on in the entertainment business. Frequent readers of Deadspin will remember the FJM reunion a few weeks ago when the guys returned for a day to be guest editors. You can go to the FJM blog or check out the Deadspin archives to get a feel for what's about to happen.

Bobby Bowden Pregame Speech via gatormarc Seriously though. I think it is remarkable that the three things that are necessary to play solid defense on national television are the same three things that won my dance troupe the silver medal at the Grace Baptist Church summer camp of We were robbed of the gold, the Pentecostals cheated.

Following this game, Coach would blame the lack of "togetherness" for the loss. For the next week he made the defense wear friendship bracelets. BC is coming to take away your naps, metamusil , and Matlock reruns? Those heartless bastards. Heads up, Coach. His name was Chuck Amato. A two-time National Champion and time ACC Champion, Coach Bowden was a leader whose commitment to excellence extended far beyond the football field.

During his many impressive years at the helm of the Seminoles football team, Coach Bowden helped shape the lives of countless young athletes who played under him, and his loyalty and dedication to his family, friends and players set an example for all those who knew him.

Many coaches can coach, but only a small number, like Bobby Bowden, can guide their student-athletes beyond the sports arena. I would like to send my condolences to his family during this difficult time. I pray they find comfort in knowing that Coach Bowden was loved by so many across our nation, and his legacy will live on through each of us. Megan and I send our deepest condolences to the Bowden family.

Coach is a legend in our game and will be remembered as an even better person. Well beyond his monumental career, he touched everyone he met with his kindness.

It was an honor to call him a friend. Rest in peace, Coach. Coach Bowden, Thank you for showing this young coach how to lead a program with the Christ-like principles of selflessness, grace, and humility. You won a ton of games but transformed countless more lives, including mine.

He shared Jesus and never claimed to be great himself. Sanders earned the Thorpe award, given to the nation's best defensive back, in The former two-time consensus All-American was also eighth in Heisman in voting in My Prayers are with u.

FSU retired Brooks' No. I am so grateful to play for Coach Bowden. I will miss him and I hope to honor his legacy with how I live my life. RIP Coach B! Warrick Dunn also played on the Seminoles' championship team, a season in which he earned freshman All-America honors. Bowden helped Dunn become the Sugar Bowl MVP and the program's first ever rusher to clear 1, yards in consecutive seasons.

He was one of a kind! Bowden coached Wayne Messam from , winning a national title in the wide receiver's freshman season. Messam is now the mayor of Miramar, Florida , a position he's held since Bowden led the Seminoles in many thrilling games against rival Miami, both of which rose to national prominence in the s.

Howard Schnellenberger, the Canes' former coach, also died this year. Rest in peace, Coach. We have lost a remarkable man and coach.
